Cindy Allen Senior Programmer Shelbyvillerec@shelbyvilletn.org |
I was born and raised in Bedford County. I graduated from Shelbyville Central High School and attended MTSU majoring in Elementary Education. However when I came to work at the Shelbyville Recreation Center in 1999, I soon realized that it was working with the "Senior" population that I was better suited. From assisting our senior population as a receptionist, to helping launch and overseeing our SilverSneakers program, and now our new 50 Plus Club, the enjoyment and satisfaction I receive from working with Bedford County's Seniors is unequaled. During my spare time, I enjoy playing tennis and spending time with my family and friends and my many, many cats |

I was born in south Florida and spent the early years of my life just blocks from the Atlantic. I am a graduate of Tullahoma High School. Currently, I live in Rutherford County and proudly call Middle Tennessee home. Having always loved the water, I swam competitively for twelve years and at 16 I started working as lifeguard for Tullahoma Parks and Rec. I worked for Tullahoma for three years as a lifeguard, swim instructor, and pool supervisor. I also coached with the Shelbyville Swim Club for three years. GO SHARKS! I spent eight years working for Target Corp. in several of the Nashville area stores as a Team Lead/Department Manager. Coming to Shelbyville has felt like a homecoming. Back to a friendly community with a small town feel, and back to the water! |
