Purchasing
The primary function of the Purchasing Division is to provide assistance to all departments of the City by procuring the best product and service at the lowest possible cost consistent with the quality needed for the proper conduct, function and operation of each using department. Our department is dedicated to the principles of accountability, ethics, impartiality, professionalism, service and transparency in the procurement process. We are responsible for implementing the City of Shelbyville Purchasing Policies & Procedures adopted by City Council November 8, 2012, including updates April 11, 2019 and November 12, 2020. Our department is also responsible for the disposal of surplus property in compliance with departmental policies and procedures manual.

Information Technology
The IT Division is responsible for providing the secure and operational information technology infrastructure for the City of Shelbyville departments. We interact closely with every department to assess current and future requirements that will improve the City's business practices. The IT Division is also responsible for maintaining the City of Shelbyville website and social media outlets.
